The Philosophy Behind My Guitars
My guitars are built in the traditional Spanish style, lightly constructed with fan braced tops, Spanish neck joint and traditional thicknesses.
What really captivates me is the true beauty of sound. I’m not interested in volume and physical power of the sound. Of course volume and power is important but not at the expense of the quality of the sound. I personally find that traditional guitars have their own kind of power too, a kind of emotional power and not just loudness. However it might be, I prefer to focus my attention on the beauty of the sound because no matter how loud a classical guitar can be made it will never be loud enough for the big concert world. There will always be a certain point where the player needs to start using amplification.
Aesthetically my guitars are clearly influenced by the French school of lutherie. I use very thin and elegant purfling lines and fine detailed rosettes. I make sure to not overload my guitars with too much detail. My aim is to create something that is simple yet elaborate at the same time.
